By JohnnyG
It's been almost a year later since I purchased my CSi A4 and I absolutely enjoy every minute that I listen to it. This was my 3rd step to my HT upgrade that I did last year. As soon as I got into Blu-ray, I started noticing that my Bose AMS 10 with Sony receiver was slacking; especially the center. The dialog was horrible and I always found myself playing around with the volume in between action scenes and scenes with heavy dialog. The first thing I did was purchased a new receiver (Denon AVR 789) and thought maybe it would improve. It only did slightly. So did some heavy research and started budgeting (still paying off student loans). My first purchase was the RTi A1's for my fronts. I could tell a whole world of improvement, but I was still using my Bose center and my front sound stage was still completely unbalanced. Then a couple months later I bought the CSi A4. WOW, what a difference! My system upgrade was finally coming together. I always knew how crucial a center channel speaker is to a good HT system and I was missing out until I this one became part of my system. I have heard many systems before in all price ranges. The CSi A4 is one of the best in it's price range (I paid $270); it sounds like a more expensive center, looks like it should be more expensive, and feels like it could be more expensive (pick it up, it's hefty). Not only does it sound great but the build quality is solid. I love how the terminals in the back are binding posts, my Bose had spring loaded terminals which limited to what gauge wiring I was able to use. With the binding posts, you can use the proper gauge wiring; especially thicker if you are running a longer speaker wire.Overall, I love the CSi A4 and have no complaints. This center performs great for movies, when you are watching tv (especially sports) or even playing video games. I do not have to adjust the volume throughout a whole movie, I can keep it at one steady volume and leave it my volume alone (unless my neighbor calls to tell me my system is too loud; I hate condos). Dialog comes out very clear and has a very natural tone. Also, give this center some time to break in, the sound just improves that much more.

By Robert A. Cooper
The good:* Great Polk Rti A sound--matches the rest of the speakers in the line perfectly* Real wood speakers at this price point is amazing* Cherry finish is really quite beautiful* Solid high-quality constructionNo real complaints, but just a suggestion: If you're matching this with large tower fronts (for example, the RTi A7 or RTi A9) in a home theatre system, consider upgrading to the A6. It can better keep up with the bigger speakers.

Got this for under $200 and it is worth every penny. Rich full sound and timber matched to any speaker in the RTi line. I run this with a pair of RTi A5's as part of a 7.1 setup and WOW! Uncompressed audio from Blu-ray movies is simply a delight you have to experience for yourself.
