Takes any workout you do now to a higher level
By Chandler
First off, I must note that I did some research prior to investing in this...those who have had issues with product separating from base have overinflated their bosu. Read instructions prior to inflation and it will explain this. A friend who is a personal trainer (who talked me into investing in the bosu) said even working the Bosu with all clients she hadn't had the issue EVER so I trusted the info to be accurate and took the leap. Glad I did!It is a rare day I use the words "fun" and "workout" in the same sentence but this sure gels those two oxymorons together. It is great fun and, according to my heart rate monitor, gave me one major workout when I did the dvd or use it on it's ownBut better yet? The time flew by! I loved using it and...wow, it's like skiiing...those who ski know you utilize muscles you can't in any other way via the movements that aren't the "norm". Same thing here. I work out daily yet the first time I used the bosu the next day I felt that I had one great workout with muscles aching (in a good way) that I never had used before.I gave away my aerobic step after using my bosu a few times. This is so much better. Now I use the bosu during any workout dvd that calls for a step. Not only do you utilize more muscles during your workouts (and all new muscle built burns extra calories...win/win) but the trampline-like feel makes it fun and the dome shape adds a core and balance workout that you'd never get otherwise. There are a few gadgets I invested in this year that I kiss myself for being smart enough to get and this is one. (my kindle comes in second)the best part is I use it during many of my other workout dvds now just to burn more calories and use more muscles...AND it takes so many workout moves up a notch. Like ab moves...you are no longer hindered by the floor so you can lean across the bosu to do crunches and work twice as many muscles because of the range of motion, push ups with the bosu turned upside down works more of your core because you engage more muscles when doing the moves. (plus it makes it way more fun...whenver my workout dvds instruct me to go to the floor for plank or pushups or ab work I do them on the bosu!)love it! A great "fitness toy"!!(p.s. I do extensive reading and research before buying anything...especially when it comes to fitness...explore the web and fitness magazines. This is, without question, universally a positive addition to whatever you are using now.)

How to fix the BOSU--It's worth it!
By Ocean Lily
I purchased a BOSU a month ago and am really getting a good workout both in balance and in strength--by placing the blue side on the floor and doing a plank while holding onto the base.Anyway, I didn't realize it shouldn't be placed in sunlight or near heat registers and today, while sitting in the sun, the blue "half ball" came apart from the base. Couldn't find any repair instructions at the BOSU site or online. But--I looked over the base carefully and found a screw in each handle. To repair--unscrew the screw in each handle and the BOSU's rim will come apart from the base in two pieces. Then completely deflate the blue half ball. At that point, line up the edges of the half ball (which look like a fork-crimped pie crust edge) with the edge of the base (according to the indentations of the base that remain on the ball). Replace the screw on one of the handles and tighten enough so it holds the two halves of the rim together--but don't tighten completely. Then, kind of like replacing a bicycle tire, fit the edge of the ball and the edge of the base into the rim and put the rim around the edges of the ball and base together. Screw the second screw into the other handle and tighten--the rim won't meet if you don't have the edges of the ball and base together and inside the rim. When the rim meets, tighten the screw on each handle. Re-inflate the BOSU and you're good to go!

Watch for separation, ball from the base
By J. McHatton
We received the item at Christmas, 2008. We, my wife and I started using it 3 times weekly and were enjoying it. We did have some problem with the air leaking, but when it got too low, we would pump it back up to the prescribed height.I had used it yesterday morning, and put it away. This morning, I got downstairs, pulled the Bosu out and the ball was separated from the base around 50 %of the base. It sticks up in the air and I am not wanting to repair it as it could cause a problem.Am still awaiting for Bosu to get back in touch with me.
