Fantastic stand, could be a little more generous with shelf height

The packaging is amazing. Have no fears about having this item shipped to you. The outer box arrived looking like it had been dropped from the airplane during a low-pass, but inside there is plenty of additional cardboard, wrapping, and styrofoam. It endured not a single scratch. Setup is a breeze. You don't even need a screwdriver!!The max shelf clearance is just over seven inches. That leaves you less than five inches on the other shelf. (There are three settings for the center shelf.) For most, I don't foresee a problem. I have a fairly tall center channel that just wouldn't fit (disappointing, but we had a plan B). For most folks, the taller shelf will handle a large receiver, but I imagine the largest probably won't slide in. The back panel is a bit more restrictive than you might think. There's not a ton of room back there, but it does a nice job of hiding the cords. Nine velcro straps (on the back of the panel, to hold the cords in place) are an especially nice touch that I had initially dismissed. However, they work incredibly well and I'm very pleased they are there.The cherry finish is beautiful and the black powder-coat blends into the background very nicely. Thick glass panels with perfectly polished edges leave no sharp corners for young children (though they'll leave plenty of fingerprints). It is heavy and incredibly sturdy. Though one person can manage, I recommend you get a friend/spouse to help lift in the glass shelves.

A step above the rest

The stand arrived today as a replacement for three Bell'o stands that arrived damaged and they each, in turn, had to be returned to Amazon.Assembly was beyond easy. It took longer to clean up the packaging material than to assemble the stand. There are only six parts and a hand full of fittings to be assembled.It is extremely well made. I was concerned that the metal fold out brackets on the side would be the typical flimsy metal that I have seen on other stands but to my surprise all the metal parts are powder coated and very strong. The back panel is of a far better quality than I expected.The wood finish on the front is well done and appears to be solid wood and not a cheap venire. The color is just slightly darker than the picture and personally I think it looks better than the picture. Although the package is very heavy at 160lbs it is very easy to take the individual components out one at a time to be assembled in place.The only thing I would like to see done to improve on this stand would be to make it about five inches taller to accommodate taller components. I had to use the top-positioning hole to raise up the middle shelf to accommodate my Denon components on the bottom and stronger shelf. It left me with a half inch to spare. Fortunately the stand is long enough to accommodate the bulk of my hardware three across. I doubt that there is room left on the center shelf for a center speaker unless it will slide in from the side. There is just 6 1/2in. left between the two glass shelves.As in my Bell'o posting I cannot speak highly enough of Amazon customer support. I would not have this fine piece of furniture without them. They are certainly the best retailer I have dealt with in many years.

Wow, This company knows how things should be done! Who ever designed this, give them a raise! As another review stated it literally took longer to clean up the "mess" than to put it together. The quality is great. The packaging was great. The color of the cherry is a few shades deeper than the picture but its so worth it. Would highly recommend this product to anyone.
