You get what you pay for

Ok, this seems like a good deal. Supposedly, each packet can be used for up to 6 cups of uncooked rice. So, I thought that this was the deal of the century. However, this product does not compare favorably at all to the more expensive Spanish saffron. It is missing the smell and taste. In fact, I can barely taste it. It does give a nice color to the grains. But we end up using the whole packet with just cooking 2 cups of rice. I won't re-order.

great risotto

I use the powedered saffron when I make risotto. I prefer it to the strands as it mixes more evenly, and gives the dish a lovely gold color

Saffron Powder

I have a Sicilian back ground and many dessert recipes or main dishes call for Saffron. It is very hard to find and when I do find it - it is very expensive. The price was very reasonable and the quality is excellent.
