if i were left with my bass in any city this pedal would be my next only choice, it "upgrades" your sound without affecting the original from your bass or amp, order through musiciansfriend or others dealers thought they don't charge you any s&h

reliable, but first one arrived defective

The tone on this bass compression pedal is amazing, however, when my original arrived the main footswitch was broken, as well as the active/passive switch on the side of the unit. Musician's Friend did not honor manufacturer's warranty, but the national EBS distributor did, and now the new one is working like a charm. Couldn't give it 5 stars because of the defect ding, but otherwise a solid investment with outstanding tonal control for the professional player.

i think this is one of those pedals that i never would have bought 12 years ago, its like scotch; you have to be experienced to really enjoy it. the pedal improves your tone from the time you plug it in and the suggested settings are helpful. the tone becomes very direct and focused. construction is solid and the pedal doesnt take up space, compact. i chose this compressor because i bought the EBS Micro Bass II which is also i great purchase and well worth the money.
