Best ice tool for the money!

The Viper from Black Diamond is just as good of an ice tool as the Cobra which costs $100 more per tool. The Viper is best on steep ice, but also works well with mixed climbing. The Viper is almost as light as the Cobra and is truly a working-mans ice tool. Rich boys that climb once a year spend $300 or more on an ice tool, but that isn't necessary with the Viper. The Viper does seem to fit bigger hands well. I prefer the Viper over other brands that seem designed for women or men with small hands. I do mixed climb, but don't feel a need to get special ice tools just for high-end mixed climbing. I love this tool and have used it on dozens of climbs over the last few years. It is very durable and can take a beating. Black Diamond makes the best ice tools in my opinion. The Viper rocks!
