surco ladder

The ladder is very lightweight and sturdy. Bolts up easily. I thought the hinged version meant that it folded in half as to not keep it down all the time. I have an older rv with a access door in the back and with the ladder down I can't get it open. The old ladder flipped up and clamped together. I only get on the roof once or twice a year so it's no big deal, so I keep the bottom half of the ladder off since I fill my fresh water tank thru that door every trip. It is a good product and a good value.

This is a great ladder except one little issue. The mounting brackets for the top of the motorhome seem a little weak and/ or flimsy. I was able to reinforce that mounting area. However, I believe that the factory should look at that mounting arrangement again.

The description is a little vague, the "hinge" is so the ladder can be installed on an RV that has a curved wall, it is NOT a hinge to allow the ladder to be folded up. I don't have it installed yet, but it looks very nice and should serve its purpose.
