2008 sierra 5.3 ---Pic was wrong on the product

This particular one does not come with the shiny cap. Doesn't look bad though and works as described. I didn't notice much mileage but i bought my truck with true duals already installed and im thinking they put too big diameter pipes for such a small v8 which is hurting me on low end torque and mileage. The volant went in easy and looks great so 5 stars--they never actually PROMISED i would get better mileage.... The few (very few) times i opened up the truck i did notice increased power in the upper rpms. nothing in the lower rpms where i'm always at but again i think i have deeper issues there. I would recommend this to a friend.

After opening the package, I noticed the intake was made of very thick, high quality plastic (much sturdier than OE). All of the hardware is quality and looks great. The installation took less than an hour. The only hiccup with the whole operation was needing to drill another hole in the bottom of the air box in order to secure all the provided hardware. This was a non-issue, expect to do similar modifications on ANY automotive product, nothing ever fits perfectly right out of the box. The engine sounds great under hard acceleration, but sounds absolutely stock otherwise. Really noticed the power while towing my trailer (holds gear better on the highway). The filter itself looks incredibly well made, and says that under normal use it should last 100,000 miles. Would buy again.Installation was done on a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe Z71

except for top screws, very nice

Well built unit, strong/thick plastic, not like flimsy OEM. Easy to install, but lid held on by phillips screws and cannot tighten the two screws next to fender as fender overhang prevents it. I will change to chrome bolts and washers later. Donaldson filter is huge and breathes nicely, dust not getting through that thing. If you want to hear your motor when you step on the gas, this is the thing to get, sounds sweet.
