5 Star with limitations.

The KOHLER K-12171-CP Fairfax Single Control Kitchen Sink Faucet is a great faucet. It looks good, has simple effective movement, and the faucet itself is shaped to fit conveniently in the sink with pans and dishes of various shapes.Where the faucet lacks is in its inner workings, where the water flow is adjusted from hot and cold. There is a small flow area that is made of brass instead of stainless steel. In our acid waters, that area corroded, and the faucet then leaked. I thought it was the valve, and I ordered the Kohler GP77548 Kohler Coralais Valve Kit and replaced the valve. The faucet still leaked. Then I found the corrosion, and ordered another faucet, since I liked the faucet.However, on installing this one, I found that the stainless steel feeder hoses are now nylon, and one of them kinked upon installation. I'm concerned that this change in hose material may just be a cost savings, and I hope the hoses will work well. I'm keeping the old stainless steel hoses, just in case I need them.So, I still give the faucet 5 stars because it seems better than the competition, but I would like those problems I mentioned fixed.
