Product Description
Color tiles are an excellent manipulative for modeling important math concepts to develop basic arithmetic skills, logical thinking and algebraic and geometric understanding. Color tiles are very useful in activities such as patterning, teaching area, perimeter, counting, measuring, probability, fractions, estimation, place value, and sorting. Because of their flat, rectangular shape, color tiles can be built in vertical, horizontal, or rectangular patterns.
These 1" x 1" plastic tiles are ½cm thick, come in 4 colors: red, blue, yellow, and green

Okay, here's the information I wanted before I bought this. :)First and foremost, disregard the photo - the only thing it shows you is the selection of colors you get. This is a very simple package - 100 tiles each of four different colors (red, green, yellow, blue), for a total of 400 tiles. The tiles are sturdy plastic, one inch square by 2mm thick, with a smooth finish. (That's right, they're all squares - no triangles or other shapes, despite the photo.) There are a few rough spots on the edges, so you might want to go over 'em with a file before letting the little ones loose on them.Game designers, take note: this is an excellent source of Scrabble-like plain tiles. Just print your desired information on 3/4" squares and tape 'em to the tiles, and you've got decent playing pieces that can be easily changed or customized.
