Hidden Cost : )

I have six Definite Technology high end speakers in surround. They are fantastic. Unfortunately, they were too fantastic for my mid-price receiver and I ended up buying a Maranz SR8002 to drive them appropriately (60% off at Amazon). I now lose track of the picture because I get lost in the sound. I have an Apple TV which allows me to play my 52 GB of music through the same speakers, ranging from opera to Son House. All sound fantastic.I know very little about the technology behind these products. However, I have a very well tuned ear and what I care about is how it sounds rather than the specs of the unit. A++++ for these. My system consists of Mythos 4's for the Front speakers, Mythos 5's for the rear surrounds, a Mythos 3 for the center channel and a Super Cube II for the sub. I drive these with a Denon 2310ci and my video is a Pioneer Elite KURO signature series 60" monitor 141FD. My AV room is around 14' x 20.The sound from this system is really nice. Clean and uncolored, very natural best describes it. The system also has a great Wife Acceptance Factor. The look is classy and does not look out of place in the room. The center channel is amazingly clear. I've always had a complaint about the muffled center channel sound on many home systems. This center delivers. The Denon Audyssey setup leaves a sound stage that is close to perfect. No holes or hotspots. The sub is powerful and moves a tremendous amount of air for it's diminutive size.I find that the system is as good for listening to music as it is for surround sound and while not inexpensive, it is one of the best bang for the buck systems I've ever listened to. I've owned this system for a little over a year and would buy it again today in a heartbeat.

I thought I would never get rid of my old huge speaker boxes. My SO wanted them gone and I agreed that they took up too much space. So I did my homework and found these gems. I thought I would really need the four inch model but I didn't. These are fine. They did need a sub-woofer (also reviewed with 5 stars) but I would have been surprised if they didn't. They are 3 inch speakers. You simply aren't going to get the true sub sound from them and expecting them to do this would be absurd.We have been surprised many times with the sound when we thought we heard sounds in the room only to find out the sounds were coming from the speakers.I recommend them unconditionally.
