Quality dermascope

I am a family physician and recently had some training in dermoscopy, having had a strong interest in dermatology my entire career. Our office purchased a smaller, less expensive unit for all of us to use, but I quickly was frustrated by having to go get it each time I wanted to use it (about half my patients have something I want to see better) and by the small lens on the unit we originally had. So after much research I decided this unit would be very functional for a reasonable price. (Is any medical equipment reasonably priced?)The unit is all I expected. Clarity is excellent, brightness is perfect and two levels of intensity are available. The retractable face plate is great with or without oil. After two charging cycles, it lasts weeks. It fits the hand nicely and is secure.The belt case holds it snuggly - a good thing because the only criticism I have is the snap cover for the belt case - it does not stay closed. The case is very snug however, and there is little to no chance of it falling out.I have not yet used a camera with this.

Requires special ring adapter

28 mm opening for Dermlite II Pro vs. 37 mm opening for Dermlite Foto. I get better picture with Dermlite Foto without the dark vignetting that is so annoying. For quality dermoscopy picture, I'd buy the Dermlite Foto once more, but the extra battery unit with the dangling cord is annoying as well.Not all 37mm-28mm step down ring will work with this Dermlite II, the space around the thread is quite narrow. You need to have the ring around the 28mm extended a little as in this step down ring[...] I have no financial interest in the above, I just bought one, I'll tell you whether it fits or not.
