Iffy on 5 piece rods?

I know I was skeptical about buying such an expensive rod that breaks down into a rod I could stow away so if I ever spotted a really nice looking stream I could take half an hour to test the waters.My 3) sage rods these days are all 4-5 piece and I honestly can't tell *any* difference.This was particularly nice when I flew to more remote areas.No more having to check my 2 piece, 5 foot or longer rods in some bomb proof packing like a cumbersome piece of PVC pipe and pray it arrived in my luggage.I can put multiple rods in the same PVC pipe....only short enough to carry on.I've fished Sage rods of the same line class and length, in 2 piece and 5 piece.The technology in rod manufacturing has finally advanced enough to consider these multi piece rods without any regrets.What else can be said about Sage rods?"Buy the Best, and only cry once".Steve....former fly only guide on the White River below Bull Shoals dam...now retired from physical disabilities.
