Two mugs cracked within 3 uses!

My husband and I registered for this set as part of our wedding registry. I LOVE the color red and he loves white, so we thought this was the perfect balance. I also thought Mikasa had a good quality reputation. Man, was I wrong. I poured coffee into one cup and it cracked! Isn't a mug supposed to hold coffee?! We put another in the dishwasher and it chipped - it says it's dishwasher safe right on it! The best part is that it wasn't placed near any other items!So I reached out to Mikasa's customer service department and they didn't even offer to replace the items - they said I could purchase a new set. Um, I have twelve, I don't need more!!! We've had them for three weeks and two mugs are trashed - so much for Mikasa standing by their "quality" products.

Horrible Quality Control...

I bought 4 sets of the "Red Berries" dinnerware service in late October 2010, and now, in mid December 2010 have already had to throw out 4 salad plates, and 3 dinner plates for badly chipped edges which turn into cracks across the entire plate surface. No kids, no abuse, only dishwasher cleaning on low dry. The bowls and cups are fine, but that may be because they routinely see less use.I am going to contact Mikasa directly, as maybe this is a QA issue with this particular batch of dinnerware...hope so because I have known them to be a high quality mfg. in the past.1/17/11 Addendum My dinnerware has continued to crumble, and I continue to throw out 1-2 pieces a week due to chipping/cracking. I have now emailed the Mikasa Company 3 times, and recieved 3 computer generated replies telling me how important I am to them and how they will contact me shortly for more details as to my complaints. Somehow I find that hard to believe. If I do hear from them as to a resolution, I will amend this review. If not, I think you would be better served to buy your dinnerware from ANY manufacturer other than Mikasa/Pfaltzgraf.

Fine Dinnerware

I just got this china set and it is so lovely. It is simple, but the painted cherries makes it look so delicate. I especially like the cups they are bigger than the ones that came from another set I bought. I love Mikasa and always wanted dishes from them, but they are always so expensive. I was glad when I found these and bought two set so I could have dishes for 8 people. I recommend this product. Delivery was good and the dishes came in their own box tightly pack so they would not break or bump against one another.

Once you figure out effective set up, it's great

I bought the MagneTrainer-HR because I wanted to exercise in my apartment and don't have space for a larger machine. It's relatively easy to set up, although you should forget about the chair tether the company provides; it's useless. Instead, place your chair against a wall, and then put the MagneTrainer on a yoga mat in front of you. This way it won't slip, even when you hike up the resistance. The machine provides a solid workout -- just like a recumbent bike at the gym -- and then stores away easily. I definitely recommend it.

Works well for the weak (me) and the strong (hubby)

I bought this to help maintain some leg flexibility due to health issues.My hubby, the avid bicycle rider is impressed with it. He uses it on days when he can't go outside for a 40 mile ride. He prefers to use this instead of his full size trainer especially on days he is saving his upper body for weight lifting. Go figure?We have had lots of exercise and weight lifting equipment over the last 35 years. The thing I always hated most was the constant adjustments I had to make since we were both using the same equipment. I groaned when I found him using this one and just knew it was going to be a problem too. Amazing, it was so simple to adjust back for me. I just pulled it forward 8", turned the knob to weakling level and started pedaling.We put it in front of the sofa. We have not had a problem with it moving.This simple device helps me maintain some motion/flexability in my legs, warms my feet, improves my circulation and helps move the water out of my legs. Best of all it is cheaper than PT or a gym and I don't have to get out of my pajamas.

A Great Mini Bike!

This bike is great! I've read all of the reviews on the various mini bikes available. The reviews for the MagneTrainer ER Mini Exercise Bike convinced me that this was the bike to purchase. I have knee and hip problems and the full size bikes would cause me difficulties getting on and off. With this bike I can slide a stool up to the bike at the distance that is most comfortable for me. I'm in a wheelchair but with some mobility. I'm able to roll up to the stool and get on and have a work-out. The bike is quiet and the resistance is very easy to adjust. I wear rubber soled shoes and I'm able to use the foot pedals with out using the strap. Some reviews mention that the bike will slide around on the floor. I put the bike on a rubber shower mat and then against a wall. This worked great. I ordered the bike on a Monday and it was delivered to my door on Wednesday. The bike was easy to unpack. It only took about ten minutes to assemble, the instructions were very clear. There were only about five things to install on the bike. It is great quality for the price. I would definitely recommend this bike to a friend.

Gives a subtle nuance to our bathroom

We chose this Sea Gull fixture for our bathroom as we are remodeling our house. We have to cut corners wherever possible and this fixture was chosen mainly for price reasons but we wanted a subtle note to your bathroom with out looking, as they say, to overdone.There were other fixtures with a grandiose look but just they didn't seem to fit.We're happy with our purchase and we use CFL bulbs in this and in all our light fixtures.
