Fits well, protects well.

This product is working well in my "new to me" Audi A3. Since the car is so small I am using the hatched area heavily and wanted to protect the carpet in this area from dirt, sand, wet towels, etc. It fits very well at the edges and is cut in a bit at the integrated hooks so they are still accessible. You can also lift the floor with the liner in place to open the spare tire compartment. However, you need to be careful to not to catch the sides of the liner, it is flexible enough that the edge lip can curl along the sides of the compartment and jam as you lift the floor. If you access this area frequently you might want to put an extender strap in the floor lift loop so you would not have to lift the liner and fish around for it. The lip at the edge is high enough to be useful for minor spills or leaks. It is warranted for a long life and looks thick enough to last. I will have to see in a few years if it is resistant to cracking, fading, etc., as it ages.The pattern is nothing special, just kind of a raised grid which is not very interesting. The liner surface is neither sticky or slick, and a little softer than many mats. Plastic bags will slide on the surface a bit as you drive, about how you would expect. Less friction than on a carpeted surface, but they won't be rolling around like ball bearings. I am less sure about this mat and dogs, I might go for a heavier duty version if the dog had large or very sharp claws. I am speculating they might catch on the pattern if hit just right.I do prefer this mat to the solution I used on my old station wagon. I had cut out cheap carpet runner purchased off a roll at a Home Supply store. It had a tendency to creep and get caught in the latch or hatch edge periodically. This mat is not sliding around, it stays in place.This liner is a little on the pricey side, but the custom fit to the car is a great feature. It's been easy to clean so far and is protecting the carpet nicely. No regrets on this purchase.
