Works very well, looks beautiful!

I read several other reviews for similar hourglasses with poor reviews. The complaints were generally that the sand stuck to the sides or clogged the little hole. Basically, the hourglass didn't work well. None of those apply to the one I received. It takes 29 minutes and 48 seconds to empty. Not exactly 30:00, but I am not going to complain over 12 seconds. The brasswork is very nicely done, and the wood base is well finished. I bought this for my wife to time herself when practicing the piano. She loves it.
