The LG 18X External Super-Multi DVD Rewriter combines quick recording with flexible media choices. Currently there are 3 types of DVD formats--DVD+R, DVD-R and DVD-RAM. Most devices can read and write in 2 formats, but LG’s Super-Multi drives read and write in all 3 DVD formats. It also records 8.5GB dual-layer DVD-R/DVD+R discs, for up to 4 hours of high-quality MPEG-2 video. This drive also features LightScribe technology, which creates silkscreen-quality disc labels on compatible discs.

LG 18X External Super-Multi

This is our second dvd burner of the same make and model. I only had to buy this one because my wife tried to burn the plastic cover and a dvd at one time (in other words operator malfunction instead of hardware). This is a great burner for someone who is not constantly upgrading to the latest version of Whiningdows. It only took about 5 minutes to hook up and start using.I would buy another (and from the same vendor) anytime my wife toasts this one!

It seems that the new computers, laptops in particular, are made with closer tolerances when inserting media for play in the media caddy. This is a new PIA for Print On Demand, custom-burned media providers.The old paper labels are now interfering with customer play and the rate of returns has quintupled in the last 3 months.LG's LightScribe is the most affordable answer, and I'm delighted to now have this in my printing circuit.We also purchased --using another online auction site-- an ancillary, custom, aftermarket LS disk, containing:more print fonts,more backgrounds,and trouble shooting solutions---for any future LS kinks that may come up or have been already discussed in php/chatrooms.Good Product, and timing is right for our SOHO biz.
